Automated Printing of Electronic Publications Fills OEM Need
Denver, CO – Digabit, Inc., (www.digabit.com) today announced an update to its Documoto™ Web Document Library that includes a revolutionary capability for printing parts catalogs for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
The future belongs to electronic, web-based content. However, printed documents are still needed in many cases, and will be for some time to come.
Documoto streamlines the flow of digital parts information directly from CAD and ERP systems into online electronic, interactive parts catalogs. These Web-based catalogs afford users 24/7 access to accurate, up-to-date information, and provide a visual, online parts ordering capability.
Now, Documoto’s new Print Module makes it possible to print entire parts catalogs directly from Documoto, with customizations of design elements like logos, fonts, headers, safety and warning information and page displays.
This important feature eliminates duplication of effort in the publishing process, and maximizes the direct use of engineering data. The need for additional desktop publishing tools is done away with.
Alan Sage, CEO of Digabit states, “Our goal is to speed up the process of getting accurate information into the hands of users. To do that, we have made it possible to print directly from Documoto. This way, OEMs can just focus on their data, with Documoto making the content both Web-accessible and available in printed, hard-copy form.”
Digabit eliminates the all-too-well-known duplication of publishing effort that devours OEM man-hours and budget dollars. Documoto, with its new Print Module, gives immediate online access to content for publishing, updating, viewing, ordering—and now, on-demand printing.
Computerization is the key to improving the productivity of all forms of technical work, and now Digabit has built an automated bridge uniting the previously separate worlds of printed parts catalogs and electronic parts catalogs.
